Artistic skillsand competencesMusic, writing, design, etc. At this moment I’m one of the 3 contributors to Traces of Dutch Indonesia in the Netherlands, a resource book for teacher educators, to be published by HAN in December 2008. This resource books aims to offer Dutch teachers educators practical ideas and methods for (their) teacher education students to learn about and actively research Dutch-Indonesian culture in all its manifestations and contributions to contemporary Dutch culture.The handbook will offer a discussion of resources that student teachers may use, such as built environment, biographies, film, photographs, young adult fiction, newspapers and periodicals, and will provide ideas how these resources can be actively researched.In this way student teachers learn to do hands-on research with their own future students on (any) one of the more important contributing minority cultures that constitute post-modern, globalised multicultural Netherlands.
Other skillsand competencesCompetences not mentioned above. Since 1978 I have a gene bank for garlic in my garden. It is a unique project in the Netherlands. At this moment I cultivate 12 different kind of garlic in a scientific and professional way.
